Asia optometric congress (AOC) Myopia management accreditation program – level 1

The Asia Optometric Congress’s Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia control (AOC-AOMC), in- partnership with Asia Optometric Management Academy, is launching the Myopia Management Accreditation Program to accredit practitioners who meet Asian qualification standards.

The accreditation process begins after the completion of the Myopia Management Course conducted by the AOC-AOMC. The candidate will undertake assessments administed by the academy. The successful candidate shall receive the Certificate of Accreditation in Myopia Management which is subject to renewal upon compliance with the AOMC guidelines. The AOC shall publish and maintain a registry of Myopia Management specialists in their website.

Objectives of the program:

• To reduce the prevalence of myopia and high myopia in the Asian region;

• To embark on capacity-building programs for eye care providers to address myopia;

• To prescribe clinical practice guidelines and protocols for myopia control to ensure standardized & quality and service delivery;

• To collaborate with the industry partners and institutions to address the myopia burden.

This program will be held on 30 & 31st January 2023. Program fee: 5 USD for members of local professional associations; 200 USD for non-members.
